The non-partisan Center for Applied Environmental Law and Policy (CAELP) seeks to further innovation in environmental law and policy so that it can best serve its purpose—protecting individuals, communities, and natural systems from environmental threats and making the often hidden costs of environmental harms visible and salient.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field (such as policy, economics, engineering, or environmental science)
  • 0-5 years of post-school professional experience, legal or public policy experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal climate policy analysis; familiarity with conducting quantitative analysis of GHG policies, energy system modeling, federal policy rulemaking, and/or energy and climate databases preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical, writing, and research skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and think creatively

Additional Information

The Center for Applied Environmental Law and Policy (CAELP) is seeking a Policy Analyst to support our work advancing and protecting strong climate and public health regulations across the power, transportation, and industrial sectors. This is a 2-year position. The Policy Analyst will work closely with CAELP colleagues to support innovation and progress on critical questions of climate policy, conduct technical policy analysis to develop and support legally durable climate policy, and communicate results to relevant decision makers and partners in the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations. The Policy Analyst will report to the Director of Policy Analysis.
